Lama Lodu Rinpoche's Activities
This year, Lama Lodu Rinpoche's teaching tour has been thoroughly accomplished with many new students, and old students visited and happily received the teachings all across the United States. We had to cancel the Santa Fe teaching tour due to a conflict with His Holiness' Karmapa Birthday celebration. Lama Lodu Rinpoche is rescheduled to teach at Santa Fe and Questa in mid-September at earliest possible time. This year, we have the special Eight Nyung Nes - every year, KDK places a special emphasis to do eight consecutive Nyung Nes. Many people participated and di very well, having great experiences and further developed their deep faith in Buddhadharma. Rinpoche travelled to India on pilgrimage, as well as some Dharma activity in Sikkim for the benefit of living beings.
Over the Tibetan New Year, Lama Lodu Rinpoche met with His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche in Sonada monastery and paid respects and made offerings to the monks and lamas there, and then engaged in many conversations as they both drove down to Salgara. His Eminence encouraged Rinpoche to attend the Shangpa convention in France, but unfortunately Rinpoche's knee condition prevented his attendance.
Throughout this schedule, Rinpoche faced an extreme pain in both of his knees that left him almost unable to walk for an extended period of time. Despite this difficulty, Rinpoche maintained all Dharma commitments throughout the United States as well as Sikkim. At first the condition improved in Sikkim but then rapidly worsened, necessitating several doctor visits. His Holiness the Karmapa advised Green Tara practice for Rinpoche's knee recovery, and between these blessings and Western medicine Rinpoche is experiencing improvement in his condition.
